Robert Gerald Bowling


Born in Palmerston (New Zealand) on 15 June 1910, he studied at Victoria University in Wellington, where he won the Hebberley Shield in 1937. He later became an accountant with Imperial Airways, before joining the Royal Air Force in the administrative branch. He was assigned to the No.615 (County of Surrey Squadron) between 1938 and 13 March 1940. He left the Royal Air Force with the rank of Lead Squadron in November 1944 to join the Royal New Zealand Air Force until the end of 1945. He later worked in South Africa, in the business[1].
