Richard Dunning Pexton


Born on 26 October 1913, he joined the Territorial Army as 2nd Lieutnant in the 5th Battalion, Green Howards. In December 1937 he applied for his transfer to the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, where he join No.41 Squadron between January and April 1939 before returning to work on the family farm. He was called, following the declaration of war, and joined No. 615 (County of Surrey) Squadron on 6 September 1939.
