Leslie Thomas Wing Thornley

Born in 1914 (?), he joined the Royal Auxiliary Air Force, and No.615 (County of Surrey) Squadron in August 1937. Appointed Flight Lieutnant in September 1939, he took command of the A Flight. On 5 December 1939, he was instructed to convoy one of the Gloster Gladiators of the Squadron, on the airfield of Lille – Seclin, for the troop review made the following day by King George VI.
