18 March 1940

Patrols continue at Saint-Inglevert with eight sorties. Pilot Officer Keith T. Lofts appears to be experiencing a technical problem on Gloster Gladiator N5583 as his first flight ends after only thirteen minutes.

At the same time, a detachment of Flight Lieutnant Leslie T.W. Thornley, Flying Officer Peter Collard, Brian P. Young, Pilot Officer Levin Fredman and Richard D. Pexton join Péronne airfield for training alongside No.4 (RAF) Squadron. In particular, they have the opportunity to fly the Westland Lysander. They are back at Vitry-en-Artois on 23 March.
