Arthur Richard Winter

He joined the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve in 1937. Called after the declaration of war, he joined No. 615 (County of Surrey) Squadron on 6 September 1939. His passage was short-lived as he was transferred to 152 Squadron on 1 October 1939. He is, however, still quickly seconded to the Defense Flight in Sumburgh, renamed Fighter Flight Sumburgh then No.247 Squadron. He left the Royal Air Force in 1945 with the rank of Squadron Leader and died in 1970 [1].
